Description
Contributes to normal ovarian function and normal glucose metabolism.
How It Works
Inositol isomers are precursors to the inositol phosphoglycan second messengers involved in insulin signal transduction.
Why This Form
The 40:1 myo to D-chiro ratio used in the published human trials, which reflects the ratio found in plasma. Single-isomer products depart from the trial protocol without stating any justification for doing so.
What we rejected: Single-isomer myo-inositol products, and arbitrary ratios.
The Research Behind It
Human randomized controlled trials on reproductive and metabolic endpoints conducted at the 40:1 ratio.
What The Evidence Does Not Show
A substantial part of this literature was conducted in clinical populations rather than in healthy adults. That constrains what we can say here and it should shape your expectations. If you are managing a diagnosed condition, discuss this with your physician rather than self-treating.
