How It Works
Tocopherols are chain-breaking lipid-phase antioxidants that terminate peroxyl radical propagation within cell membranes.
Why This Form
Natural d-alpha-tocopherol with the full gamma and delta fractions. Synthetic dl-alpha is a racemic mixture of eight stereoisomers of which only one matches the natural molecule, and human bioavailability differs substantially. Isolated high-dose alpha-tocopherol is also documented to displace gamma-tocopherol from circulation, so alpha-only formulation actively depletes a fraction you want to keep.
What we rejected: Synthetic dl-alpha-tocopherol, and alpha-only formulation at high dose.

What The Evidence Does Not Show
Large trials of isolated high-dose alpha-tocopherol have generally not confirmed the outcome benefits once hoped for. That history is part of why this product is formulated as the full fraction at a modest dose rather than alpha alone at a high one.
