How It Works

Pantothenic acid is the precursor to coenzyme A, which carries acetyl groups into the citric acid cycle and is required for fatty acid synthesis. Pantethine is the disulphide dimer and sits closer to coenzyme A in the pathway.

Why This Form

We include pantethine alongside the calcium salt where the evidence justifies the additional cost, rather than defaulting to the cheapest available form.

What we rejected: Calcium D-pantothenate as the sole form.
