Description
Evidence Tier · Emerging Evidence
Organic Hericium erinaceus, standardized to 40% polysaccharides.
What It Does
Supports cognitive function and focus.*
How It Works
Lion’s mane contains hericenones and erinacines, compounds that stimulate nerve growth factor synthesis in laboratory studies.
Why This Form
Standardized polysaccharide content stated on the label, with 1,000 mg per serving.
Clinical Evidence
A double-blind, placebo-controlled trial in older adults with mild cognitive impairment gave lion’s mane for 16 weeks and measured cognitive scores.¹ A trial in healthy young adults examined acute and 28-day effects on cognition and stress.²
What The Evidence Does Not Show
Human trials are small. This product uses fruiting body and mycelium. The first trial used fruiting body powder at a higher daily dose. Effects in the trial faded after supplementation stopped.
