Description
Evidence Tier · Mixed Results
Black cohosh, red clover, sage and soy isoflavones with supporting botanicals.
What It Does
Supports comfort during menopause.*
How It Works
Red clover and soy isoflavones are plant compounds that bind estrogen receptors weakly. Black cohosh and sage act on serotonergic and other pathways involved in temperature regulation.
Why This Form
Combines the botanicals that have been tested most in menopausal women.
Clinical Evidence
A Cochrane review assessed black cohosh trials for menopausal symptoms.¹ An open-label trial at a Swiss clinical center gave sage leaf extract to menopausal women and recorded hot flush frequency.²
What The Evidence Does Not Show
The Cochrane review found insufficient evidence that black cohosh outperforms placebo. The sage trial had no placebo group. This is our lowest evidence tier and we label it as mixed.
